Adventures in Vic

Adventures in Vic

After Rouen and Madrid, I knew I needed more match experience. So, right after my match in Madrid, I packed my bags and headed to Vic which is 1 h out of Barcelona, hoping to find more rhythm.

Unfortunately, my singles match was everything but that, haha. I really struggled out there and didn’t feel like myself at all. You never know what this sport has is store next. Instead of dwelling on that, I tried to shift my focus on doubles, where I knew I could gain a lot from because I love playing doubles and have had great success over the years.

There were definitely some bumps along the way. One including my partner getting stuck on a train for hours due to a power outage in all of Spain, arriving just the day before our match! I was worried about whether we’d even be able to play. But when she finally made it, we jokingly agreed that her crazy journey was a sign we were meant to win this tournament.

We really dug deep in every match, giving it our all, and to our amazement, we ended up winning the title! This was especially meaningful for me since it marked my first title in six years. After so many years of reaching finals without a win, it felt like a veil had been lifted like I broke a curse lol

This victory has given me a boost of confidence, reminding me that I still have what it takes to win titles. I’m excited to carry this momentum into Rome and see what’s next on my journey.
